Aspiring Broadcast Meteorologist

Jackson Dill is an undergraduate student pursing a Bachelor's degree in Meteorology and Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Mathematics at the University of Miami. He has a wide range of experience, which includes holding executive board positions at the school's award-winning cable channel. He also was offered an internship at CNN's morning shows, "New Day" and "Early Start," for summer 2020 but that was ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19. Jackson aims to become a broadcast meteorologist following college.

ASSISTANT STATION MANAGER, UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI TELEVISION

May 2020 - Present

  • Serves as the Treasurer with regard to the Student Activity Fee Allocation Committee and the Committee on Student Organizations to secure funding for needs of UMTV

  • Attends meetings with Station Manager and faculty advisor to discuss issues and topics of interest to better the station

  • Supports the Station Manager in all roles and production-related tasks

PRESIDENT’S 100 TOUR GUIDE, UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI OFFICE OF UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSION

  • Provides weekly campus tours to prospective students and their families to aid in making college decisions

  • Assists the office with special events for potential students

Jackson's Weather was Jackson's forecasting website he developed in high school to showcase his own forecasts for free to the southwestern Connecticut area, which is where he is from.
